Hi, I’m Colin Paroz.
My mission is to help entrepreneurs and business owners to set and achieve outstanding personal, professional and business goals in the pursuit of creating a fulfilling and successful life. Since 1991, I have worked with thousands of people to help them achieve success beyond their expectations.
My approach is pragmatic and outcome focused. I don’t believe there is any point in telling you to “think positive” and “believe in yourself”. My philosophy is that success comes from action and actions come from well thought out plans.
I believe that if you really want to achieve something worthwhile, it takes a good plan and then the commitment, skills and tools to execute your plan. I also believe that success can be achieved by making things simpler not more complicated and following a clearly laid out plan. To do this, it is necessary to understand the situation as it really is, the future as it might be and once this is done, create a plan to get you from “here to there.”
I have worked with many people from around the world and from many walks of life, and I can consistently see opportunities that others miss. My approach to success is one of stimulating thought and helping others to learn new ways of approaching old problems.
I am able to provide a wealth of ideas, insights, examples and practical tools that can help you to define and achieve your success in every aspect of your life.
I work with people who are serious about taking their life and business to the next level. If you need help to start a new business, grow your existing business or restructure a business facing significant challenges, you are in the right place.
I regularly work with entrepreneurs and business owners to:
- Define business ideas and turn them into reality;
- Develop strategies and plans that create successful businesses;
- Develop and implement simple but effective financial and operational management tools;
- Lead meaningful discussions that craft long-term goals and strategies;
- Develop and implement organisational turnarounds;
- Facilitate profitable relationships between business partners and senior management teams;
- Develop and implement succession and business sale plans; and
- Mentor business owners to enable them to perform at their best and achieve outstanding results in their life and business.

Making your Business More Valuable - Colin Paroz
When I talk about value in a business sense I am referring to the amount of money a reasonably motivated buyer would pay for your business. Now, an important thing to understand here is that when people buy a business they are buying the promise of a future income. So, working on this idea, to make your business more valuable you need to maximise the amount and sustainability of the future income that your business can produce. One interesting thing about the idea of value is that it is a very personal thing. Something that is valuable to me may be of little interest to you.
Here’s the really important idea. Whether you want to sell your business or keep it for a really long time, doesn’t it make sense to make it more valuable? To increase the amount and sustainability of the future income of your business? By doing this you are also increasing what I consider to be one of the most important (valuable) things to every business owner – lifestyle.
I think of lifestyle as more time to do more of the things you want to do.
It’s important to also realise that the concept of value creation works just as well when starting up a new business. Again, more value means more sustainable profits and lifestyle options for the business owners. As Steven Covey said in his best sell The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People “start as you mean to go on”.
One of the things that makes a business more valuable is a reduced reliance on any one individual, particularly the owners. Be in no doubt that when due diligence is being conducted on a business for sale, the reliance on individuals and succession planning will well and truly be taken into account. A real benefit to the process of making a business more valuable is the improved quality of life for owners and managers in the business.
So that’s what I do. I help business owners make their business more valuable and less reliant on their business owners. I do this by working with the business owners to firstly identify business and personal goals and then the things that need to be done to achieve these goals. I like to keep things simple, normally using a one-page, 100-day plan to guide and measure progress.
In practical terms, I like to meet with my clients at least every two weeks (online or face to face) for an hour or two and generally communicate by email and text between sessions. I am also available to assist with specific business support activities such as developing more detailed business plans and organisational development tasks.
